چکیده
Abstract Background Fasting plasma glucose (FPG) variability is a significant predictor of mortality, especially in patients with poor glycemic control. This study aimed to explore the temporal age- and sex-specific profiles FPG Chinese population undergoing routine health screening guide development targeted public interventions for prevention control diabetes. Methods In this cross-sectional study, we used general linear model compare differences values between sexes across age groups 101,886 Nanjing residents who underwent physical examination at Health Management Center, First Affiliated Hospital Medical University, 2018. The as function time, age, sex, independently combination, was analyzed. Results participants included 57,455 (56.4%) males 44,431 (43.6%) females, mean ± SD 42.8 15.0 years. average level 5.5 1.1 mmol/L. monthly variation contributed 22% overall variability. A main effect group observed (F = 7.39, P < 0.05), an excellent fitting (Eta-squared =0.15). showed sex percentage difference coefficient variation, which 34.1% higher than females. There were interaction effects month*age*sex day*age*sex. Conclusions Temporal evident affected by both sex. To avoid complications associated variability, should be directed females specific ages optimal reduce risk diabetes cardiovascular events.

Performance of HbA1c and Fasting Plasma Glucose in Screening for Diabetes in Patients Undergoing Coronary Angiography
OBJECTIVE The performance of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) and fasting plasma glucose (FPG) was compared in screening for diabetes by an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) in patients undergoing coronary angiography (CAG). RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS Patients without known diabetes admitted for CAG were eligible. OGTT and HbA1c were assessed 2-4 weeks after hospital discharge. The performance o...

متن کاملEffects of Sex, Age, and Fasting Conditions on Plasma Lipidomic Profiles of Fasted Sprague-Dawley Rats
Circulating lipid molecules reflect biological processes in the body and, thus, are useful tools for preclinical estimation of the efficacy and safety of newly developed drugs. However, background information on profiles of circulating lipid molecules in preclinical animal models is limited. Therefore, we examined the effects of multiple factors such as sex (fasted male vs. female), age (fasted...
متن کاملScreening for gestational diabetes by measuring fasting plasma glucose levels.
OBJECTIVES (a) To test the sensitivity and specificity of measuring fasting plasma glucose levels (FPG) as a screening test for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). (b) To compare predicting levels of FPG levels with the one-hour, oral 50g non-fasting glucose challenge test (GCT) for predicting GDM. METHODS One thousand and six hundred pregnant women from the Health Centres, antenatal clinics...
